Here's an eamples of optical systems that can produce either a real or virtual image include convex lenses, concave lenses, concave mirrors, convex mirrors, and prisms. The specific characteristics of the image depend on factors such as the type of system and the object's position.

what is virtual image? User: what is plane mirror? User: what are the characteristics an image formed by a plane mirror?
Weegy: Maybe, provided that the mirror is not sub standard. Why do you ask? User: what is the different between diffraction and interference? (More)

The image formed by a plane mirror is always virtual (meaning that the light rays do not actually come from the image), upright, and of the same shape and size as the object it is reflecting.

Interference is the more general concept which refers to the phenomenon of waves interacting whereas Diffraction' usually refers to the spreading wave pattern from a finite-width aperture.
