Let's say police enter a man's house looking for a criminal and any possible victims from a shooting. While in the house, the police notice an expensive stereo in the corner, which looks out of place in the run-down house. The officer picks up the stereo, reads the serial number, and calls it in. When he learns the stereo is stolen, he seizes the evidence and arrests the man. Is the search permissible? Why or why not?
Weegy: not.. no search warrant (More)

The permissibility of the search depends on whether the police had a valid search warrant, probable cause, or if any exceptions to the warrant requirement apply. Without further information, it is not possible to definitively determine if the search was permissible or not. Legal standards can vary, and consulting a legal professional is advised.
