Percentage increase = [(New Value - Old Value) / Old Value] x 100
Percentage increase = [(1350 - 1000) / 1000] x 100
Percentage increase = (350 / 1000) x 100
Percentage increase = 0.35 x 100
Percentage increase = 35%
Therefore, the student population this year is 35% larger than last year.
To express this in terms of the total student population this year compared to last year, we add this percentage to 100%:
Total Percentage = 100% + 35%
Total Percentage = 135%
Therefore, this year's student population compared to last year's is 135%

The towns population was increased by 115%, so we have to get how much 15% of 7500 is.

15% x 7500 = 1125

We then add these two (1125, 7500) to get 8625.

To solve this, I would write a proportion, it makes everything easier.
Since we don't know what the original value is, it will be x. The second proportion is the percents of everything.
455 130
x 100
Cross multiply 455 by 100 and then divide it by 130.
This gives you 350.
The original Price of the necklace is 350
