4x^2 + 8x + 3 = 0;

(2x + 1)(2x + 3) = 0;

2x + 1 = 0; 2x = -1; x = -1/2;

2x + 3 = 0; 2x = -3; x = -3/2

There are TWO solutions (x = -1/2 and x = -3/2) to the quadratic equation 4x^2 + 8x + 3 = 0.

4(-1/2)^2 + 8(-1/2) + 3 = 0;

4(1/4) - 4 + 3 = 0;

1 - 4 + 3 = 0;

-3 + 3 = 0

4(-3/2)^2 + 8(-3/2) + 3 = 0;

4(9/4) - 12 + 3 = 0;

9 - 12 + 3 = 0;

9 - 9 = 0
