Someone is taking me to court for past due rent for a month, this person gave me 30 days to leave, i had to pay for movers and find a place fast. I paid for a room in there house and never signed a contract or agreement it was verbal. What can i do ? I always paid them cash or check for rent.
You can try to make a payment arrangement and avoid court if possible. If you let it get to the point of a court hearing you could end up paying more because of legal fees. [ If you are unable to work it out with them, try calling a lawyer, many will give you a free phone consultation. ]
