A rocket is launched into space using powerful engines and fuel. It goes through different stages, shedding parts as it ascends. Once it reaches its desired orbit, it releases its payload. If designed to be reusable, the rocket can return to Earth by maneuvering back into the atmosphere. It lands either vertically or horizontally, depending on its design. After landing, it undergoes inspection and refurbishment for future use.
