How does the fact that joint injuries are often very slow to heal
It's difficult to treat a joint trauma, because you move the joint constantly, even when you are asleep.
If the joint is immobilized, then you will lose function, and mobility, over the weeks it takes the injury to heal. [ This later requires rehab for weeks to get it back to full functionality.
Unless it is a surgically repaired trauma, most physicians let it heal without suppressing its motion, but with directions to avoid a lot of physical activity affecting that joint. ]
