How might a potential employer evaluate your writing if you did not use proper verb tenses?

A potential employer will review applications and resumes in order to narrow down the pool before even interviewing people. So if this employer sees a lot of verb tense mistakes in an application, that person may assume the applicant is either not well educated or was too lazy to proofread their work. The potential employer may therefore assume the person will not take care in their work if they're hired and never even interview the person to begin with.
