The use of the Internet has practically replaced face to face communication. I have seen people in the same room IM'ing one another...it's sad really. Now because of all the options we have to access the internet, we have literally placed a wall between us and mastering the art of effective communication. Almost like it was set up that way. Although the World Wide Web is marketed to make us believe it is a way to secure a closer bond with those we love (ie: big focus on international communication) we are in reality, keeping our relationships even more so at a distance Compared to the days when technology wasn't an obsession yet, today's relationships are abbreviated and wirelessly transmitted to give our friends a virtual hug? That doesn't sound even remotely close to warm and fuzzy. To top it all off when we are face to face...we still LOL each other. We are replacing human interactions on every level, and replacing them with automated responses that we have become accustomed to and have accepted as NORMAL. What's wrong with this picture? Just Food 4 Thought.
