how does the respiratory system and digestive system work together to maintain homepstasis?
epiglottis. [ It moves to cover the esophagus normally allowing air to go into the trachea and then to cover the trachea when eating to make sure food goes into the esophagus to prevent choking.
The respiratory system intakes oxygen which enters the blood and travels to the cells of the digestion system. the oxygen allows them to make energy so they can perform functions like peristalsis,
making/secreting enzymes etc. ]
