User: What can I look forward to the doctor actually doing?

Weegy: Since I am not a doctor I really cannot answer that but I'm confident he will examine it and tell you what is going on. Where is the blood blister?

User: It's on the back. There is no sign of infection. If you can't help, please pass this on to another expert.

With blisters, you need to take special care because they can easily become infected. If it is a big blister, or a blister that isn't getting better, go see a doctor.

I found out that the emergency room won't do anything about this, and neither will most doctors. However, a dermatologist or a surgeon will. I also found out that even if it looks like a blood blister, there are several other conditions it might be, such as cherry angioma or pyogenic granuloma. I would like to say thank you to those who have written, but let's close this to further comments now.

What can a doctor do about a blood blister that just keeps getting bigger?
Weegy: Would you like me to research some home remedies? User: No, thank you. I would like to know what a doctor can do about a blood blister that just keeps getting bigger. Weegy: They will drain it and give you an antibiotic or zinc cream to keep infection out. Please rate good if you like Weegy User: That is very interesting. How do you know they will drain it? Weegy: Generally that is the course of treatment. However it can also be a sign of more serious conditions, this is why you should see a doctor User: Can you tell me the source of your information? When I researched blood blisters on the internet, everything I read said not to open it. Weegy: should help User: Thank you. Have you ever tried it? Weegy: I have not personally, but I have had a family member do this and it was effective. Just keeping it clean is very important after draining it User: I just looked at the second site you recommended, and it, like most sites, says NOT to drain it. Weegy: I gave you two sites to give you the scope of information out there. If you feel it is getting larger, you need to see a doctor User: But what I would like to know is, what might a doctor do about it? Weegy: It would depend on the doctor and what their opinon of it is User: Fine. But what are the possibilities? Weegy: They will drain it, leave it and/or treat with antibiotics. User: Well, the antibiotics we don't need, since there's no sign of infection. Leave it alone we've already tried for several weeks (with zinc ointment or antibiotic ointment and changing the dressing once or twice a day). So tell me more about the family member draining it. Is it similar to dealing with a pimple or boil? Weegy: Exactly. However it can be a sign of a more serious disease. User: Did the family member make a small hole with a sterilized sewing needle and then soak the blister with a warm compress? Did s/he do any gentle squeezing? (More)
