between a periodic physical inventory and a computer track inventory, which has more value and why?
Weegy: Doing periodic physical inventories is the essential piece of any effort to control your inventory. [ Physical inventories, the process by which retailers count the physical merchandise in the store and then look to reconcile it with stock quantities in the system, are the bridge between theory and reality. No matter how good your inventory control software is, if you are not periodically conducting physical inventories, the numbers in the system will be increasingly divorced from reality as time goes on. The physical inventory process can only be done at a Remote station since, consistent with the philosophy of inventory control behind XpertMartâ„¢, every store or warehouse is responsible for its own inventory. By design, managers at the Main cannot intervene at any step of the physical inventory process since it would then create too many opportunities for store managers to claim they are not responsible for discrepancies in stock since part of the process is open to outside intervention. ] (More)

what are some recent changes in the food market?
Weegy: Recent trends or changes in the food market could include curbside pick-up, consumers choosing organic and healthier food selections in restaurants, the introduction of healthier food in vending machines, [ as well as quick-meals bought in grocery stores. Quick-Fix meals are meals that are fully cooked or prepared (bagged salads, microwaveable meals, and other meals that can be made in 15-30 minutes). The introduction and trend in these meals have altered the amount of fresh produce and fresh meat once purchased by grocery stores; families with two working parents may not always have time to make dinner, so a quick-fix meal may help. Running a Restaurant for Dummies Another trend in the food market that aids families with time restraints is curb-side pickup at various restaurants; curbside pickup is popular in various family restaurants, the change this trend brings is the need for more to-go boxes, plastic utensils, and napkins; because of these extras, many restaurants may slightly hike the price of meals in order to compensate; in addition, with larger purchases of these required items, food distributors may offer restaurants a better deal with larger quantities bought. One trend adding more of a cost to food than most is the popularity of organic/healthy foods in restaurants, even vending machines. Since organic food costs more and there is usually less produced, establishments that offer these types of foods will pay more. Trends usually drive the price up on any given product, and these extra costs are passed on to consumers; trends change the volume and price in which the products involved are bought. ] (More)

what is the interdependencies between purchasing and production functions
Weegy: The production department needs materials to work with. The materials are purchased by the purchasing dept. They need to know each other's timelines and deadlines, e.g. prod. [ needs to know how much lead time to give purchasing to get the materials, i.e. they can't expect to go to the store, see that materials have run out, then tell purchasing "We need this NOW". That is not possible and not reasonable. Purchasing also should know roughly when the next order from production will be coming in. It needs to know the grade of materials prod. needs and how many vendors can supply this, which of the vendors is the cheapest, etc. The thing is for purchasing not to buy too much because overstocking holds up cash and storage space. On the other hand, if purchasing is too slow or finds a vendor who can only supply PART of what they need, that will hold up production and lead to lost sales. ] (More)
