Why do most medical facilities seem to have transferred to electronic records, do they still maintain paper files, or do they use some combination of both?

A person who has worked at the same facility under a paper system and an electronic one-I DEFINITELY prefer having an electronic medical record. However, there are still challenges with an electronic system. What are of some of the challenges of having an electronic system?
Weegy: The medical record should be secure so there are no privacy violations. [ With a simple click, a record can be accessed knowingly or unknowingly by a nondesignated person, a record can be sent to the wrong recipient, or the wrong record can be sent to an intended recipient. It is easy to complete/?close an electronic clinic note without proofreading, which can lead to misspelled words, words that were left out, or other such errors. It is easier to delay charting because the chart doesn’t have to “go” anywhere, not back to medical records or to another department. Read more: ] (More)

Hospitals that have not moved to an electronic system did anyone tell you the reason that they have not made the transition yet?
Weegy: It may be too costly for those hospitals to use electronic systems. The electronic systems have capital requirements and high maintenance costs. (More)

I found out all most everyone is going to the computer way because they can tie all the medical facility together. I think it is a good idea to shred them after they are but in the computer but I would also burn them after shredding them because who knows who can get them and tape them back together . Whats your opinion?
Weegy: Files on your computer can also drift away. Normally deleting a file does not remove it from the hard drive. The reference to the file is what is being deleted. [ The file can then easily be restored until it has been written over a few times - even then it can be restored however that is more difficult. Overall digital documents and files are more handy to use for most things. ] (More)
