Question and answer
Do you believe that chimps that learn to use signs are capable of communicating through language? Why or why not?
Chimps may be able to communicate basic thoughts or ideas through signs, but they are not able to communicate through language. Language is unique to humans, allowing us to generate new and original ideas without ever hearing them before. [ Chimps don't yet have the cognitive and linguistic development needed to generate original and complex thoughts that are conveyed through language or signs.

In what ways are sexist biases reflected in the language we use in ordinary speech? Please give examples.
Weegy: All of the following statements about bias are TRUE except: bias gives an objective assessment of a situation. Sexist biases are reflected in occupations that we use colloquially such as fireman, policeman, or mailman. [ Also it is common standard that when a gender is unknown, that one usually uses the masculine pronoun instead of feminine or ambiguous (he, him, his, etc.) ] (More)
