Q: describe ways in which individuals and carers can be supported to overcome their fears
A: There are a multitude of ways. Fears can be overcome by finding supporters. When individuals have friends and family supporting them, they have a tendency to feel better about doing things they may have been unsure about. [ The same is true of finding someone else to do whatever you are scared of along with you. Second, practice always decreases fear. Familiarity makes you better able to handle
fears. Additionally, pretending that no one else is around usually helps - it decreases inhibition and makes you better able to do what you want/to try new things without the fear of embarrassment or discomfort. ]
