Question and answer
How can you educate others effectively about the routes of transmission for major types of pathogens?
You can educate others effectively about the routes of transmission for major types of pathogens by explaining the many different ways pathogens enter the body by direct contact like touching or kissing someone or through sexual relations. [ Also, food and waterborne pathogens from eating or touching contaminated food and then touching yourself or someone else. Then there’s indirect contact like
sharing drug needles. Another indirect contact is aire-borne pathogens like the common cold from coming into contact with other’s infected saliva. Coming into contact with animals can result in animal-borne pathogens from getting bitten or coming into contact with feces. Dead animals may have died from a disease so it is important to dispose of them carefully. Insects can carry diseases as well. This is called Vector-borne transmission and can come from getting bit by a mosquito or tick or spider. I saw a guy get beat up and as I went to help him he said, “Do not come in contact with my blood. I have hep C!”. I informed him that I was not in the nature of coming into contact with anyone’s blood or any other bodily fluid for that matter if I could help it. The best way to inform someone is to tell them what you have (Sorry I can’t shake hands – I have the flu!). ]

Weegy: Pathogens are microorganisms such as viruses, bacteria, protozoa, and fungi that cause disease in humans and other species. Pathogen transmission involves three steps: escape from the host, travel to, and infection of the new host. [ [ Like any other topic, pathogen transmission needs to be discussed in schools, in the news, in the media and through public service announcements. Read more here: ] (More)
