Question and answer
Q: What would archeologists infer from the presence of ruins of both elite and commoner residences in Mayan population centers, while the residences in Olmec population centers are all for the
elite? Maya civilization was more democratic than Olmec civilization. Maya civilization, unlike Olmec civilization, lacked small villages. The Olmec had a smaller class of commoners than the Maya did. Olmec-style ceremonial centers developed into cities under the Maya.
