Explain how and when to access information and support about identifying and addressing specific communication needs
Weegy: You need as much information as possible about the individual's communication needs to ensure that their wishes and needs are met. In my work setting we get an 'easy care' plan before the individual arrives. [ This tells us of any specific needs the individual has on all aspects of their care. We then complete care plans, with the individual, to support them during their stay. Observing their interaction with others is a good way of finding out information also. Talk to the individual, their family/carers, other professionals involved in their care. If aids are needed (hearing aids, picture cards, pen and paper) make sure that these are available. If language is a barrier maybe learning a few words of their language would help. If their needs change you need to adapt to the changes. ] (More)

Prepare the environment to facilitate communication
Weegy: Team communication is an important aspect to team dynamics. The various techniques used in a team environment will encourage growth, expression and the feeling of being a part of the team. [ Implementing different techniques in team communication will allow team members to voice their opinions, take charge and express their thoughts, cares and concerns. Don't stick to just one technique, as this will only encourage one type of response from the team. Hold a Feedback Session Hold a feedback session to allow the members of team to voice their opinion. Gather the team together and break the team up into smaller groups no larger than 10 people in each sub-group. Assign a leader to each group and instruct him or her on exactly how to facilitate the discussion. Provide each leader with a printout of the topics you want discussed. Provide at least one question for each topic to get the discussion going. Instruct the leader to encourage feedback from each member. If one member dominates the feedback session, call on the quiet people to encourage them to participate. Assign one person in each group to take notes and record the feedback from the members. Encourage a Debate For issues that are one side or another, hold a debate. Separate the two sides of the debate and have each side nominate one person to express that side's ideas, opinions and requests. Have the nominated person prepare with the members of that side to ensure accuracy and proper representation. Hold a formal debate with the top leaders or bosses as the judges. Allow the debate to go on, giving an equal amount of time for each side. In the end, have the judges converse and decide what side will win. Use Persuasion Use persuasion in a team environment to convince the members of the team one way or another. Persuasion is typically used in a presentation setting where one person lectures, using examples, visual aids and evidence to convince the team that his or her way or perspective is the way to go. ...
