Question and answer
Q: Discuss 5 ways in which the human or environmental problem impacts on the community.provide relevant sources to support your claims.
A: Community members are often the most useful source of information and expertise about local natural resources, environmental concerns, and the potential impacts associated with a proposed development. [ [ Residents are often familiar with local landforms, wildlife, and land use patterns. For example, a farmer who?s land is being surveyed for possible development may be aware of nesting grassland
birds that are currently protected by federal law. Such information is critical to the environmental impact assessment. In addition to the technical and scientific aspects such as calculating the increase in storm-water runoff from a proposed development, community perceptions, values and opinions about the types of development are also important. A proposed development may be technically feasible and consistent with past development practices in the community; however, community input is the most reliable source of information for determining whether the project is compatible with the community?s long-term goals. ............. ] ]
