Many prisoners are able to obtain a positive experience out of this and turn their lives around after successful completion of a correction program. What are the advantages and disadvantages of private prisons?
Weegy: advantages - more funding (possibly) if backed by private owner or company and not subject to state/natl. [ funding or lack thereof, larger ratio of inmates to officers - more specialized attention and smaller chance of fights/riots breaking out, with the larger funding - more specialized programs to help inmates build career skills to reduce recidivism disadvantages - because they are not as thoroughly regulated by state/natl govt, if programs were not up to speed or in a state of danger or bad things were going on, would be less likely to be known and rectified - such as drug activity profiting private owners ] (More)
