A girl has 8 coins in dimes and quarters. Their value is $1.55. How many quarters does she have? The girl has 5 quarters (and 3 dimes.) 5 x .25=1.25, 3 X .10=.30, 1.25+.30=$1.55 If Jessie is 24 years younger than her mother and if the sum of their ages is 84, how old is Jessie? x + x + 24=84. 2x + 24=84. 2x=60. x=30. Jessie is 30, (and her mother is 54.)
