The slope of the line that goes through points A(8, 7) and B(5,-2) is 3. m = (y2-y1)/(x2-x1); m = (-2-7)/(5-8); m = -9/-3; m = 3

1 Answer/Comment

4y - 2x + 5 = 6x + 1

4y = 6x + 2x + 1 - 5

4y = 8x - 4

(4y = 8x - 4)/(4)

y = 2x - 1

In the form y = mx + b, m stands for slope; therefore, the slope is 2.

4y = 6x + 2x + 1 - 5

4y = 8x - 4

(4y = 8x - 4)/(4)

y = 2x - 1

In the form y = mx + b, m stands for slope; therefore, the slope is 2.
