User: What changes might occur in the hydrologic cycle if our climate were to warm up or cool down significantly?

Weegy: Warmer: -Desertification (desert like conditions of the soil) in the tropics. -Tropical storms would increase in severity. -Rain forest that depend upon transpiration and fog (especially the North America temperate rainforest from Nor-Cal to BC [ Canada) would become a lot dryer and susceptible to fires. -Salinity of potable water fresh water would increase, making drinking and irrigation water scarcer. -Evaporation would happen at faster rates, speeding up the hydrological cycle. -Seeing as how water vapor is a green house gas, the cycle would further increase (positive feedback loop). Cooler: -More snow, ice, and glaciers would form. -Glaciation, would increase erosion. -Condensation would happen more often. -Soil moisture wold be higher. -Fog and low clouds would be more common. -Another positive feedback loop would happen, but for cooling (higher albedo etc). ]
