8^8*8^4 = 8^12.
When the bases are the same, you find the new power by just adding the exponents.

The simplified form of the expression for (m^3/4c^5)^-4 is 256c^20/m^12 .
(m^3/4c^5)^-4
=(m^3)^-4/(4c^5)^-4
=m^-12/4^-4c^-20
=(1/m^12)/ (1/256c^20)
=1/m^12*256c^20
=256c^20/m^12.
