Small Project—A small project is any project that has a cost estimate less than the current threshold for large/small projects. This threshold changes every October 1 based on the Consumer Price Index. For Federal FY 2002 the threshold was $52,000. Funding for small projects is based on the approved estimate to complete the scope of work. If the applicant discovers a significant cost overrun related to actual cost to complete all estimated small projects, an appeal may be submitted for the additional funds within 60 days of completing the last small project.
