How do humans activites increase the harmful effects of prolonged drought?Weegy:
For Information on effects: http://www.bom.gov.au/climate/drought/livedrought.shtml
Based on the article, I got information that soil erosion and fires cause drought. In this case, soil erosion is because of human activity---cutting down trees, mass cutting, causing the soil to slide and become loose when rain falls. This is because no roots will hold the soil together or evaporate the eater from leaves and soil, known as transpiration. Instead, all the soil (with NUTRIENTS) will be flushed away, and of no use.
On the other hand, fires might cause drought, but they are actually good for the environment to start fresh and sprout new plants.
