User: thanks

Weegy: Enzymes are useful when needing to digest a biological product ie in washing powder, biological powders can be very good at breaking down biological stains such as blood, human waste (baby clothes), foods such as proteins. [ As a scientist i use amylase a proteolytic enzyme to break down carbohydrates or starch in a stain on human tissue which is used to diagnose human conditions for my hospital. The advantage being with enzymes you can get very good results, ie clean clothes and very good stain removal, and for certain industrial techniques, an enzyme is essential as the technique could not work without it. Disadvantages are enzymes only work at body temperatures 37 degrees centrigade because they have been harvested from the body and so it is very important to keep temperatures optimum and stable or they will not work and you will not get the results you are looking for, ]

Enzymes catalyse a reaction and so without them an otherwise slow reaction is sped up. this is a great adv. in industry because it means products can be mass produced at a great rate.

however products like tinned fruits have to get boiled before they can be processed as it is a regulation of the foods standards agency so that all germs are killed. during the heating the enzymes become denatured.
