lfwinnie, According to your source, shape and texture are elements of art. The user was asking about Principle of Art and those are balance and proportion.

Ifwinnie, I provided the link for my source. balance and proportion are listed as principles of art. From that link you can click on 'elements' of art where you will find shape and texture. Shape and texture are considered elements of art - not principles.
