[ Because of the weak federal government, the laws and courts of each state treated residents of other states in a prejudicial manner. They also allowed each state to coin it's own money and pass tariffs/taxes on good from one state traveling through another state. It was until the Constitution was passed that we established a strong federal judiciary to deal with problems between states; problems between citizens of different states; and to insure that all states treated the sister states fairly.
