User: Identify different reasons why people communicate

Weegy: To express needs; to share ideas and information; to reassure; to express feelings; to build relationships; socialise; to ask questions; to share experiences People communicate in order to establish and maintain relationships with others, [ to give and receive information and instructions, to understand and be understood, to share opinions, knowledge, feelings, emotions, to give encouragement and show others they are valued. Communication is an essential tool a carer can use to meet the needs of children. It is a basic requirement of my job role to communicate with individuals and their families, other members of staff on a daily basis. Communicating with other staff members ensures effective team working and continuity of care. It also ensures any health and safety issues are recognised and reported. All carers attend hand over at the beginning of each shift and also complete communication books after attending an individual, thereby keeping other staff informed and aware of current situations within the workplace. Individuals communicate with carers to express their needs and preferences and to ensure they are met. As a carer I would discuss the options and choices available to the individual to allow them an informed choice regards their care. ]

Explain how effective communication affects all aspects of own work
Weegy: Through the effective communication, we can easily exchange every sort of information, our ideas with the people around and this thing can indirectly affect our work as the other people get to know our point clearly. [ ] User: Explain why it is important to observe an individual’s reactions when communicating with them Weegy: Communication is a 2-way process. [ It is not simply about sending a message, but also about knowing if the receiver has understood and processed the message properly. In face-to-face communication, the person listening may not always indicate verbally if they have understood or if they agree. Observing body language helps the speaker understand if the other person understands/agrees etc. Also, even if the other person replies verbally his or her body language may show that they have not really understood or agreed. Observation helps understand the effectiveness of communication. This is because Body Language ( part of non-verbal communication) is instinctive and more reliable than verbal communication in many cases. ] User: 4.1 explain the term ‘confidentiality’ Weegy: Confidentiality is the non-disclosure of some information except to an authorized person. [ In medicine, it is the ethical principle right that a physician will hold secret all information relating to a patient health, unless the patient gives consent authorizing the disclosure. ] User: 4.4 explain how and when to seek advice about confidentiality (More)
