Question and answer
What do you call a female duck?
A female duck is called a duck. Male ducks are called drakes. Much as with geese, a female is called a goose, but a male goose has a completely different name; gander. [ Duck is also an classification of bird, so clearly someone chose the feminine form of the word for classification. ]
