Question and answer
When is it a good idea to take a "lower-level" position with the company of your dreams?
I think it depends on how often positions become available in your dream company, and how big a drop in position you are taking. There is no right or wrong time.

what are some of the pros and cons of informational interviewing
Weegy: Pros: • you get to actually speak to a human being within the company you would eventually like to work for. • you get to put your best face forward and show how great and interested you are, [ instead of being just another resume. • the person can put in a good word for you if you impress them, and will keep you in mind if something comes up. • there is someone available and knowledgeable who can answer your questions. • you've made a contact at the company! Cons: • there's usually no job attached to it so it sometimes feels pointless. • you're usually talking to an HR person, or someone who isn't directly connected to the people you'd theoretically be working with. • chances are, you aren't the only person securing an "informational interview" so you're again a face in the crowd. ] (More)
