There are a number of ways in which you can help children to develop their communication skills. You should give some thought to ways in which you can ensure that children play as full a role as possible, depending on their age and understanding, in planning and decision making within your organisation such as: • a suggestion box to give everyone in the organisation an opportunity to make suggestions about how things could be improved; • a ‘consultative committee’ involving one or two of the leaders/organisers in your group meeting on a formal basis with children or young people to discuss matters affecting their joint interests, or if appropriate, include them on your management committee. ................... ]
