debnjerry, the rules say "To add credibility to your answer, always provide a link, if available, to a source that confirms its accuracy especially when you obtain information from another site."

Notice it says "if available". I can't give a link to my source as it is an online classroom that must be logged into in order to access it.

You can look for a source online and provide a link to it. There is almost ALWAYS a source available.

Hevnlymom, the reason we need to provide a source is to help confirm your answer.
The answer might have come from your own knowledge, but other moderators might not know it. For example, I don't know the answer to that question, but if you have a source, it will help me confirm your answer.

Here is proof that the answer to this question is no.



The first 4 sentences of the first paragraph state: "There are two image main image file format definitions used in a typical graphic design project. Raster (or bitmap) images and vector images. Raster images are generally photographs or images made up of pixels. These images are resolution-dependent, meaning that their physical size is directly associated with their resolution (the number of Dots (pixels) per Square Inch or DPI that they contain)."

The answer is no, because the raster is resolution-dependent, not resolution independent.
