Question and answer
How has the Internet affected marketing research? As a part of your answer, address time, cost, approaches, and validity.
For one thing marketing research on the internet requires less people which means less wages and overhead or lower cost. In the past larger groups were needed to pour over sales records and invoices to gather information at a fast pace. [ With the internet companies are now linked to Point of Sale devices which store their information on databases or servers across different continents. In the
past a research analyst in New York would have spent a great deal of time and money trying to demographic data or sales data from towns or stores in Texas, thanks to the internet that information is readily available at a fraction of what it once cost. Thanks to the digital archiving of records and information human error has been greatly reduced, this increases the validity of data used in carrying out research. Marketing research is important due to the fact that people (Even those in the same country) have different tastes and needs, for each sub group in a target market or location marketing research is used in order to increase the potency or efficiency of the marketing campaign and in order to ensure that the resources such as manpower and finances are not mismanaged. ]

Do you think that marketing should be included as part of the sales organization within a company? Explain why or why not.
Weegy: Marketing should work closely with sales but not be necessarily in the same department. [ It will be important for sales data to be presented to the marketing team and that underlying conditions of that data be understood so obviously some joint effort will be necessary. The marketing team will want to probably oversee brand integration and unifying product message to be consistent with their marketing message within the sales organization. Marketing brings the potential customer to the sales department so there will be justification for constant interaction but the marketing team will need their own room to breath and create. ] (More)

What part of promoting the product being sold in a manner appealing to the consumer would be a drawback?
Weegy: Ability to promote the product or good being sold in an attractive fashion that is appealing to consumers. [ This is a benefit. The benefits of incorporating marketing into the sales function of an organization are the ability to promote the product being sold in a fashion that is appealing to consumers. Marketing would use strategies to appeal to the masses, showing consumers "what in it for them." I read somewhere, "Any fool can make soap, and it takes a clever man to sell it." While it is great to come up with great ideas for a product, you have to know how to be able to get people to buy what you are selling. So do I think that marketing should be included as part of the sales organization with a company, I would say absolutely. I think that marketing is vital to a company's success. ] (More)
