# For this Discussion, you will need to observe two people having a face-to-face conversation that lasts about 2 minutes. It is recommended that you watch a scripted drama or comedy television show
or a movie (not a documentary or a reality show). # Answer the following questions about the communicators and their behaviors: * Where is the conversation taking place? Who are the communicators? * What examples of the listening process—attending, interpreting, responding, remembering—do you see? Are any steps in the process missing? Why? * What obstacles to effective listening are present? Are the obstacles overcome during the conversation? How? * What effective listening behaviors might have been used by the communicators to overcome or even avoid the obstacles?
The conversation is taking place at a park, on a bench. I can see attention, response, interpretation and memory. I can determine no steps missing at this time. [ The obstacles of effective listening shown are eye contact, and communication between the two people. All of the above. ]
