Question and answer
What influences have humans had on your local environment, positive or negative?
Positive human impacts are generally limited to undoing problems humans have caused in the first place. [ At one time "positive impacts" were thought to be changing land which was just wastefully being "natural" into productive farms or cities. Activities which improve damaged eco-systems include: Ecosystems are reinstated Pollution discharges are eliminated Species are bred and
released Foreign species are eliminated Accumulations of contaminated sediments are removed We exhale some carbon dioxide which assists green plants in survival Our assistance in natural selection (culling) in some wild herds yield a less negative gene pool The protected species laws assist in avoiding extinction Use of new and different energy forms reduce pollution Composting puts nutrients back into the earth, where they originally come from "Re-greening" areas which have been subject to desertification Reforestation of native lands ]

What influences have humans had on your local environment
Weegy: Man has been killing animals right since the time he acquired the skill of hunting. Although in those times hunting was the means for survival, human beings continued to kill animals even after he had learned to cultivate crops. [ The relentless hunting by human beings, sometimes for the hide of a cheetah or the tusks of the elephants, or simply to cook the tasty shark fin soup, has wiped out the existence a large number of animals in just a century. Besides hunting, human activities like environmental pollution and deforestation has led to the extinction of a large number of animals and plants due to loss of habitat. Recent studies have shown that in North America, 37 animal species have become extinct in the last 50 years due to human activities. Loss of habitat led to the extinction of the Bali subspecies of tiger in 1937. According to the 2008 annual IUCN report, there were 16,928 animal and plant species that are threatened of extinction and the list keeps increasing every year. ] (More)

human influence in the enviroment
Weegy: Human Influences on the Environment Because humans are often poorly adapted to their environment (they do not have warm fur coats, sharp claws, night vision, or the ability to photosynthesize their own food), [ they have learned to change their environment to survive. The most dramatic changes they have brought about in the environment have been in the past two centuries. Technological advances have changed the face of the Earth as well as the composition of the atmosphere and the hydrosphere. ] (More)

what are some human influences in a local enviroment
Weegy: Human industrial activities are believed to be adding to the amount of "greenhouse gases" naturally present in the atmosphere. [ There are mounting proofs that following the industrial revolution of the 18th and 19th centuries, which commenced in Britain and has expanded to several parts of the world, the amounts of of carbon dioxide, methane and other greenhouse gases in the atmosphere has increased somewhat. this leaves room for the suspicion that humans could have been contributing to Global Warming. Based on scientific results and day-to-day physical evidences, global warming is no longer in dispute. With the the verdict of the fourth assessment report on climate change just released by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), there is also very little contention that man contributes to the heating up of the Earth. However, the question that remains is: how much of the warming is caused by man? ] (More)
