Weegy: WAEC is the West African Examinations Council, which is an organization responsible for conducting a variety of examinations in the English speaking countries of West Africa. [ The WAEC is a non profit organization currently headquartered in Accra, Ghana. The WAEC website provides a list of the necessary steps a candidate can and should take in order to register for the upcoming examinations for November and December, 2011. Online registration for the Nov/December 2011 A2 is available now at West Africa Examinations Council website, and can be downloaded free of charge. Registration for November/December 2011 closes July 15, 2011 in Ghana, and there is a penalty of 10,000 Nairi assessed for late registration. The cost of entry per candidate is GH 6.00. Candidates can register for one subject in the general certificate categories for at a rate of GH 20.00 for a single subject, and GH120.00 for 6 or more subjects. Each candidate can test in up to 8 subjects per examination period. In the advanced categories, the entry per candidate fee is still GH6.00; however, each individual subject is GH30.00, and to test in all advanced subject categories the fee is GH180.00. If a candidate wants to take the Information Technology Practical Test, the fee is an additional GH20.00. Please note, some of the tabs on the website are inoperable as the site is currently under construction; however; there are PDF's available to secure additional and specific information as to registration.
