BP Gas has been under a lot of scrutiny as of late due to the large pipeline burst in the Gulf of Mexico. [ Because of the oil spill, they encountered heavy legal issues with the United States Government that included fines and increased jurisdiction over their operations in order to pay for the spill cleanup and ensure that it would not happen again. They showed poor ethics because they knew of
the weak valve in their pipeline years before the pipe burst and could have done something to prevent it if they had spent the money to maintain the pipeline. They also showed poor corporate social responsibility because their actions put many fisherman and other workers out of business due to their negligence. ]
