If birds that are homozygous for one allele are black and birds that are homozygous for the other allele are white, then heterozygous birds must be black, white or gray?
Weegy: If a parent who is homozygous dominant for a trait mates with a homozygous recessive person, then all of their children will express the dominant allele’s phenotype. Black is the dominant phenotype, therefore they would be born black. (More)

Is a mutation in a skin cell heritable?
Weegy: Its a mutation that occurs in the germline cells (sperm/egg) but not in the somatic cells. If you develope a mutation in your skin (say T=T dymer) it wont influence your children because the mutation is in the skin cell DNA NOT the egg/sperm. [ A heritable change must therefore occur in the germ cells. Interestingly enough the parent in which this mutation occurs will NOT show this trait (assuming its a mutation isolated to the germ cells). The child will then posses this mutation in all their cells since the progenitor (the embroy) was given a mutated copy. This also assumes its a dominate mutation ] (More)
