North Korea was assisted in it's war with South Kora by the armed forces of
Ostensibly to provide an official forum for the international Communist movement.
In reality,it was a front for the Eastern Bloc countries controlled by the Soviet Union to reject the offer of Marshall Aid,made by the US in 1947,as Stalin forbade [ any of them from accepting.

Aid under theor own volition,rather than because of pressure from Stalin.Comecon wasn't set up until 1949, AFTER Marshall Aid to Europe began, and only comprised states with Communist governments, not all Communist parties/movements around the world. ]
