Q: explain why it is important to use language that is both age appropriate and ability appropriate when communicating with individuals with learning disabilities
A: Imagine if our mind didn't work as fast as others how would we feel if people treated we like a child? Our needs and wants would be the same as others of our age so it wouldn't help to be patronised. Ability appropriate communication would be, [ for example, slowing down our speech to suit an individual's understanding and giving them an appropriate amount of time for them to respond. So really
