What factors do you think influence the credibility of the following list of sources: newspaper, magazine, television programs, movies, television news reporting, the Internet, and advertising
what influences their credibility is the content shown on printed on them . If a content is verified of an internet site it may be true or untrue . Newspapers : bound by certain laws and can face liability for claiming things that are untrue. [ I would say credible.
Magazine: Same type of thing only it would have to be a academic journal or magazine to provide anything newsworthy.
Television: Can be fiction Not credible
Movies : Also fiction. Not credible
TV news: Credible
The internet : I would say not credible depending on the site. Anyone can create a web site and what they say may be just their opinion. You would have to be careful in ensuring that the specific website is a credible source
Advertising: Still bound by laws but have tricky ways of decieving people. I would say not credible.
In the end i think that people publish information for money and they will try to get away with anything that is legally possible.
