Weegy: a plant wilts for one of two main reasons.... it's thirsty....meaning it doesn't have enough water available in the plant to keep the leaves standing as they should..... or.... it's just too hot outside.... some plants wilt to keep their leaf surfaces sort of 'folded' in a 'wilt l to keep from losing moisture thru a lot of exposed leaf surface.... after the sun goes down, usually they perk right back up without you adding any water.... hydrangeas are really good about this.... so are coleus....
