Question and answer
an example of when your memory has contributed to or inhibited learning.
In psychology, memory inhibition is the ability not to remember irrelevant information. [ The scientific concept of memory inhibition should not be confused with everyday uses of the word "inhibition." Scientifically speaking, memory inhibition is a type of cognitive inhibition, which is the stopping or overriding of a mental process, in whole or in part, with or without intention.[1] Memory
inhibition is a critical component of an effective memory system. While some memories are retained for a lifetime, most memories are forgotten.[2] According to evolutionary psychologists, forgetting is adaptive because it facilitates selectivity of rapid, efficient recollection.[3] For example, a person trying to remember where he parked his car would not want to remember every place he has ever parked. In order to remember something, therefore, it is essential not only to activate the relevant information, but also to inhibit irrelevant information. There are many memory phenomena that seem to involve inhibition, although there is often debate about the distinction between interference and inhibition. ]

the three approaches to learning.
Weegy: Welcome to Weegy. What is your question about learning? User: what are the three approaches to learning Weegy: Below are four approaches to learning that can beused to help you design learning activities and materials. Behaviourism The mind is a ³black box´. [ Thus, the focus is on the end product of learning rather thanhow learning occurs.Adirect link between input ( stimulus) and output ( response) exists. One manipulates the inputs to produce the desired behaviours. Positive and negativefeedback can used to reward, reinforce, or eliminate specified behaviours. Learners learn at their own pace. Implications of Behaviourism The focus is an observable behavior that can be measured. Often aspects of learning thatare difficult to measure, such as changes in attitudes, are the most important components toan education. The type of feedback administered affects the learning outcomes.Repeated behavior becomes automatic. Behaviourism supports self-paced, individualized learning. Cognitivism Information is processed in the mind.Changes in behavior are examined for indicators of processes occurring in the brain. How information is registered, stored in working and long-term memory, and processed affects how and what we learn.Implications of Cognitivism As the brain has a limited capacity to process information, information must be broken intosmaller pieces. In order to retain new information, the material must be presented with distinct featuresthat help the learner to distinguish the new information from previously learned material. Learners must be given the opportunity to practice in order to anchor the new information to previously learned material. Constructivism We construct our own perspective of the world. Learning is an active process ± the mind alters the information within its own contextual experience based on past experiences, beliefs, and mental structures. New knowledge is built upon previous knowledge. Learning is socially constructed. We ... (More)

How can you tell if someone is doing something from an intrinsic motivation as opposed to doing it from an extrinsic motivation. For example, there are two individuals donating to the same charity. One individual is wealthy and the other person is not. Is one of these individuals donating more from an intrinsic motivation than from an extrinsic motivation. Is the motivation the same. How would you decide.
Weegy: Intrinsic motivation comes from inner psychological factors whereas extrinsic motivation comes from outside factors, such as a boss, a teacher, the law, and so on. [ so u would have to go into the details to know why they are motivated to do so probably the rich one is inrinsicly motivated and the rich one extrinscily motivated ] (More)
