The five major ways language can change are _____.
Weegy: 1) Adaptation - Languages tend to change through daily use, commonly used words tend to change and be simplified more often than seldom used words. e.g. [ the verb "to be" is highly irregular in almost all languages, mostly because it is in very common usage. 2) Synthesis - Words are borrowed from other languages. e.g. beef and poultry were both synthesized from French to English after the Norman conquest. 3) Standardization - Languages tend to become more "regular" over time. Tips for caring for a 3 year old: Routine is important, knowing what to expect and when to expect it can help prevent meltdowns. Talk to the child using your adult voice, baby talk just delays a child's speech development. Never leave a 3 year old unattended - accidents can happen so quickly. Give your child choices, but limit them - For example "Do you want apple slices or a banana?", Get down and play! Kids are young for such a short period. Even housework can be fun and you can get the child involved doing small jobs - he will feel a sense of accomplishment and you will be able to get more doen. Rest when the child rests, you are going to need the energy. Try to get outside when the weather is nice. Plan errands for times when your child is at his best, not nap time! Be flexible, plans sometimes need to change.
