Question and answer
why is it important to meet an individuals communication needs in a social care setting
Communication is VITAL in a healthcare and social care setting. The patient and the healthcare professional need to understand each other clearly in order for the patient to receive the best possible care. [ Provding care to a patient is next to impossible if the patient's needs cannot be clearly stated. Communication eases anxiety of the patient, eliminates more possibilities for mistakes, and
lets each party know what is expected of them. ]

What features of the environment may help or hinder communication
Weegy: The movement of air, as wind, carries sound. The wind can çarry sound in your direction and enable you to hear the sound, voices, music, whatever, as clearly as if it were much closer than it is. [ [ So in this way the environment is helping communication.Environmental factors such as poor lighting can also hinder the communication as if the service provider is using sign language the service user wont be able to see what is being done. Noisy Environments can also hinder the communication, as the service user may not be able to hear what the service provider is saying and this is also similar to either the service user or service provider sitting to far way from each other as they may not hear each other as clear as they could have, if they were sitting closer to each other. ] (More)
