What are some of the ethical challenges surrounding the movie and music industries as they relate to the Internet? How has education affected your views about the practice of downloading or copying
multimedia content in these fields?
The current conflict between the recording industry and a portion of its customers who are involved in illicit copying of music files arose from innovations involving the compression and electronic distribution of files over the internet. [ This paper briefly describes some of the challenges faced by the recording industry, and examines some of the ethical issues that arise in various industry
and consumer responses to the opportunities and threats presented by these innovations. The paper concludes by highlighting the risks associated with responses that threaten further innovation, ultimately reducing the chances of finding solutions that hold appeal for all parties. ]

Weegy: Well first and foremost, there are copyright challenges. Especially for music, where artists get paid royalties every time someone purchases their song. [ Ethically, taking someone's song or playing a movie clip without their permission and using it on youtube is stealing because it decreases the creator's revenue stream. The main reason why the music industry is in trouble is the decline of physical sales - albums, CDs, EPs, etc. This partially due to people preferring to download or stream movies and music online instead of buying the physical medium ] (More)
