Do you think virtual interactive communities are genuine communities? Why, or why not?
Yes. The traditional definition of a community is your neighborhoods, villages, etc. Virtual communities are usually dispersed geographically, and therefore are not communities under the original definition. [ Some online communities are linked geographically, and are known as community websites. However, if one considers communities to simply possess boundaries of some sort between their
members and non-members, then a virtual community is certainly a community. Virtual communities resemble real life communities in the sense that they both provide support, information, friendship and acceptance between strangers. It’s like a community that exists through the media. Seeking information with common interest that will allow a new relationship community to be formed. The good points are included in virtual communities and social networks enhance people’s friendship and love relationship because they allow users; firstly, it would allow users to seek and share the information to form a new relationship community. Secondly, it would create a community those users who make new friends without geographical boundaries. Thirdly, it would help the users to find love partners. These of characteristics highlight the components of enhancing people’s several kind of relationships in reality. ]
