Question and answer
Explain why it is important for moving and handling tasks to be carried out following specialist training within the social care setting
If risks from moving and handling are to be managed successfully, there must be support from those at the top of the organisation, whatever its size. [ [ This can be expressed in a clear statement of policy – supported by organisational arrangements – to ensure that the statement is implemented. Key elements include: * recognition of the risks * commitment to introducing precautions to reduce
that risk * a statement of clear roles and responsibilities * an explanation of what is expected from individual employees * arrangements for training and providing / maintaining equipment * arrangements for monitoring compliance * a commitment to supporting people who have been injured in connection with their work ] ]

Explain own role in supporting others to follow practices that reduces the spread of infection
Weegy: he most important way to reduce the spread of infections is hand washing - always wash regularly with soap and warm water. [ Also important is to get a vaccine for those infections and viruses that have one, when available. [ See the OSH Answers Hand Washing - Reducing the Risk of Common Infections for more details. This OSH Answers document will discuss other methods that can also help to slow or stop the spread of infections. Ways you can reduce or slow the spread of infections include * get the appropriate vaccine * wash your hands frequently * stay home if you are sick (so you do not spread it to other people) * cover your nose and mouth when sneezing and coughing (or cough into your elbow) * use single-use tissues for wiping your nose * wash your hands after coughing, sneezing or using tissues * if working with children, have them play with hard surface toys that can be easily cleaned * do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth (viruses can transfer from your hands and into the body) * do not share cups, glasses, dishes or cutlery. ] ] (More)

describe the main points of legislation that relate to moving and handling
Weegy: Manual Handling Regulations 1992 (amended 2002) part of Health and Safety at Work 1974 refer to the moving and handling of heavy objects. It is the employer who should assess risk of injury with expected heavy lifting. [ I'm not sure what you mean by "home nursing". i.e. in a care home or in the patient's own home - assuming you are an outreach care worker. As long as you have an employer (i.e. you are not nursing your own relative in your own unpaid time) then they should supply guidance on this. Health and Safety Executive are the regulatory body if there are any suspected breach of regulation and Local Authority Environmental Health may be able to give information and guidance also. Explain how following principles for safe moving and handling protects those in the social care setting from injury or harm User: Explain situations that may require additional supports, neceddary for safer moving and handling
Weegy: situations that may require additional supports, necessary for safer moving and handling such as: The National Nuclear Security Administration travels the globe, [ locating unsecured (or poorly-secured) weapons grade Uranium and bringing it back to the United States for safe keeping so it doesn't fall into the hands of terrorists or countries like Iran and North Korea, who would just love the opportunity to nuke us into the Stone Age. To date, they have secured more than 1500 pounds of weaponized radioactive materials. That's just the tip of the iceberg. THAT would definitely require additional support. Instead, we are slashing their budget "to create jobs." ] (More)
